Where are the days going? As I am getting older, I feel like the days are getting longer but the weeks and months are getting shorter and shorter. Before more time passes by, I thought I’d do a quick wrap-up each month to try and remind myself of the special occasions or some small accomplishments of the month.
On October 2nd, I came back from a much-needed trip to India. We enjoyed the festivities and spent some quality time with our friends and family. The weekend of October 2nd, our time was spent in cleaning up the apartment and stocking the groceries.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday the coming week and I baked a chocolate cake at home! It was low on sugar but very delicious. To mark the occasion, we went on a ferry ride to Geelong. It was a very short trip. We didn’t get to explore Geelong – Ferry ride to Geelong and catching a train back to Melbourne. The water was surreal. We got to see a lot of yachts and even saw a seal perched up on a rock! On reaching Geelong we went to the Waterfront beach to have a little stroll. Later we had lunch at an Indian restaurant named Kesari and headed back to Melbourne. This ferry ride gave us a lot of downtime. The precious time to sit on the deck, stare at the waters, and have a few minutes to calm the storm in our mind. We got to see a mixed bunch of folks on the ride – A group of 60/70-year-olds with one 30-year-old having great laughs. Then came a family of 3 generations of women just trying to find a nice window seat to catch the beautiful scenery. For a change, I saw a lot of people actually talking to their companions or having solitary time on the deck, rather than scrolling through their phones.
The next two weekends we were invited to our relatives’ house for a pooja and a lunch get-together. We had a lovely time and cherished the time we got to spend some time with our family.
That’s about it.
PS- I know I am very late to put up an October wrap-up post. But a couple of days back I sat down to write a November wrap-up and felt like including the last month as well.
Few snapshots from the last month
