A quick reset routine

Some days are long and tiring. Some days just go by so quickly. There are days when I feel so overwhelmed by the list of things I need to finish. Worse than that I have a mental list going on with the list of things I need to do but don’t end up doing at all. That’s when I realized I needed to do a quick reset.

Few things I try to incorporate to get my mojo back

  • Hair wash – I know it sounds bizarre. But I have an oily scalp and my hair gets out of control very fast. So, the first thing I need to do to make myself feel good is a quick hair wash. I try to give a gentle massage to my scalp with lightweight oil – tea tree oil or almond oil, keep it for about half an hour, and then wash it off.
  • Yoga/stretches – Moving my body for at least half an hour or so wakes me up. Surya namaskara is the most basic form of exercise which is so so good for the mind and body.
  • Cup of coffee/any non-alcoholic drink – I know they say coffee is bad for you. I have tried to cut down my coffee intake during most days from less to nil. But on some days I feel there is something about a good cup of coffee that makes everything better. I recently ordered fresh coffee powder from Kaapi and can’t wait to try it. The aroma as soon as I opened the package was unbelievable!
  • Watch a YouTube video – This might sound silly. But I like to watch a short YouTube video (< 30 min) of one of my favorite content creators to pump in some motivation. Since I am currently on sabbatical and don’t have a specific routine outside of the house chores it’s very easy for me to immerse myself in the everyday chores and not do anything outside of that. Watching these short videos sparks something inside and motivates me to pick up either the course I am doing (for office) or to write something for my blog
  • Reading a book – A book is something that always grounds me. There is nothing like cozying up to a nice book at the end of the day. This is something I like to do every day. Sometimes I read 50 pages, sometimes I read 5 pages. It doesn’t matter how much I read, as long as I read something

These are some of the things I try to do when I am feeling low on energy and motivation. Let me know what you guys do on such days in the comments below
